A Cathedral prayer for all who have left local churches
Lord Jesus, good shepherd of your sheep,
Holy Spirit, comforter and guide to truth, love and life,
Heavenly Father, who calls prodigals to return to your embrace:
In your compassion embrace all who wander from the sheepfold of your love. Jesus may they know afresh the Shepherd's care. Amen.
Holy Spirit, bring back to our communities of faith,
friends and family,
the hurt, the discouraged, the angry and the mistreated.
Comfort and console the hurting and the harmed,
Forgiving grace releases for all blessing and joy, fall upon us afresh.
Holy Spirit fall upon us all and refresh our hearts AMEN
Father of heaven, you love our world with your all embracing love,
bringing us by your Son to share in your eternity as a gracious gift.
Restore, give peace of mind, shower love upon the hurting,
strengthen your church.
Welcome back into loving fellowship those who hurt and are estranged.
Father hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Amen
