Communion at 8am

Early risers will enjoy celebrating and sharing in our traditional Anglican communion service. Using A Prayer Book for Australia the president celebrates the First Order based on Archbishop Cranmer's original 1662 service on the 1st Sunday of each month. All other Sundays are Second Order services.

We lift hearts and minds to God in worship with traditional hymns and the reading and preaching of the Word of God.

The service is just under the hour.

Choral Eucharist at 10am

St David's Cathedral choral Eucharist with its renowned choir under the direction of Craig Doherty is a joyful and inspiring time of worship in music, the preached word and liturgy.

The St David's choir is well known for its sacred music. The quality Cathedral organ, one of the finest in Australia, is played at both morning services under the direction of Cathedral organist Professor Rod Thomson and assistant organist Andrew Bainbridge.

Children are especially welcome at Saint David's. We believe that children are not tomorrow's church but are integral to church life today. From Sunday October 15 we are initiating new children's ministry patterns with Children's Church for under 8's and a Breakfast Club for those aged 9 and over. All children and young people will leave for their activity time returning for the sacrament or a blessing with their parents.

The service is an hour and fifteen minutes.

Are you in the City of Hobart City midweek? You will be welcome at a midweek community.

Evening Prayer

At 6.30pm on Sundays we hear God's word and pray for our world, city and Cathedral community. This is a plain service with sermon and without music.

Choral Evensong on the 4th Sunday

Choral Evensong under the expert direction of our Choir Director Craig Doherty uplifts hearts in praise. The Service is sung by experienced priests and the congregation is led in music and hymns of praise by the St David's choir.

Cathedral unplugged at 5pm

Cathedral Unplugged is a new contemporary way of doing church for the young and the young at heart in the Cathedral at 5 pm. Why not taste and see. Music is popular and the service is relational. It is not clericalised and we look to the active participation in music, reading, prayer and worship.
