RIP The Very Rev'd Harlin Butterley
Dean Emeritus of St. David's Cathedral Harlin Butterley went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday January 6, Epiphany. Harlin was Dean at St. Davids for most of the '70s and early '80s and was a well known and loved figure around Hobart, particularly through his connection with St. Michael's Collegiate as Chaplain. May he rest in peace and be raised in glory.
A memorial service will be held at St. David's this Wednesday, January 11, at 12 noon.
Christmas Services Well Attended
Christmas may be about Down, Down our God came Down but service numbers were up. Almost 400 came to the 9 Lessons and Carols where the Choir under the direction of Andrew Bainbridge were in fine voice. At the Midnight Service Bishop John Harrower spoke of Jesus coming as the Light revealing God. The Dean spoke on the theme of Our God came down. An audio of the sermon at 10am is available to the right.
